SUNY/CID Welcomes a New Director

The Center for International Development, along with the University at Albany’s Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Gina Volynsky as our new Director, effective December 24, 2015.

A twenty-five year veteran in the field international development, Ms. Volynsky has an impressive range of experience in strategic planning, new business development, relationship management, project management and communications. She has designed and/or implemented programs in more than twenty-nine countries, working with donors including USAID, the MCC, World Bank, UNDP and the Gates Foundation. Most recently, Ms. Volynsky served as Vice President at Dexis Consulting, where she led the firm’s institutional support contract for the USAID Global Development Lab, Center for Transformational Partnerships. Previously, she was Director of New Business Development at CARANA and held similar positions at Crown Agents USA and Bearing Point International. She is fluent in five languages and has lived in Eastern Europe, the Mideast, Canada and the United States.

Gina’s impressive track record in team building and innovative thinking and her commitment to a broad range of development goals including inclusive growth, political and economic empowerment and gender equality, complement the values and principles of SUNY/CID. As we enter into the new year, the Center looks forward to working under Gina’s direction to build upon our past accomplishments in the field of international development and expand our practice while we continue to broaden our expertise and thought leadership in partnership with our University affiliates.
