In her position of SUNY/CID's Office Manger, Lia Cartagenes provides continuous administrative and procedural support both to CID and to International Administration (IA). Ms. Cartagenes also conducts various logistics activities for domestic and international travel, as well as for various SUNY/CID's events, such as the Speakers' Forum.

Previously, Ms. Cartagenes was a Project Manager for the Strengthening of the Union National Assembly Project in Tanzania and the Citizens Working for Justice Project in Bolivia. She has proven experience in accounting, finance and administration in the private sector, in her native Brazil and in the U.S.; she has also worked as a translator.

Ms. Cartagenes received her accounting degree from Gama Filho University in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Bilingual in English and Portuguese, she also has a good command of Spanish.
