As we are at the cutting edge of research regarding the intersection of CVE and human trafficking, there is not a lot of formal literature or data available on the subject we are interested in. However, there is a host of existing information on CVE and human trafficking as separate entities and tangential data that we have curated to hopefully inform those interested in the subject and would like to know more.

  • Department of State — Tiers of Human Trafficking

    The Trafficking in Persons Report (TIP Report) is an annual report issued by the US State Department’s Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons, ranking governments based on their perceived efforts to acknowledge and combat human trafficking, using a 1-3 Tier system. Tier 1 being governments that fully comply with the standards outlined in the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000 and Tier 3 being countries whose government do not fully comply with the minimum standards and are not making significant efforts to do so. The Tiers of Human Trafficking Factsheet has a description of the criteria for each tier and the list of countries and the tier they fall under.

    This state profile summarizes regionally specific data to help promote collaboration and inform and enhance the response to human trafficking in New York. Information was reported to the National Human Trafficking Hotline from December 2012-December 2016. It includes statistics on the demographics of potential persons trafficked, top 5 sex and labor trafficking venues, and types of calls to the National Human Trafficking Hotline. It also lists New York Human Trafficking Laws and the New York Statewide Efforts against human trafficking.
