Christian Haupt is the Chief of Party for the USAID-funded Strengthening Governing Institutions and Processes (SGIP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) activity. He previously served as SUNY/CID’s Chief of Party for the USAID Parliamentary Support Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina. His 13 years of development experience include previous service as the Chief of Cabinet of the Military Advisor to the German Ambassador in BiH and multiple positions in the OSCE Mission to BiH. His last position with the OSCE was as Head of the Parliamentary Section in the Department of Security Cooperation. His areas of expertise include parliamentary oversight of security institutions, regional parliamentary cooperation, institution building, security sector reform, and disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration. Mr. Haupt holds M.A. degrees in biology and in Slavic languages from the Julis Maximilians Universitat Wurzburg in Germany. He has published working papers and book chapters, and presented at multiple conferences. Mr. Haupt is a certified Croatian-language translator.
