Beth Long-Velasquez has more than 13 years of international development experience in Latin America, Lusophone and East Africa, including serving as Chief of Party for a $5 million USAID-funded legislative strengthening project in Mozambique. Ms. Long-Velasquez’s work has focused primarily on institutional strengthening, citizen participation in legislative and judicial processes, and increased transparency by these institutions in their interactions with civil society at large. Currently, Ms. Long-Velasquez works on legislative strengthening projects in Zimbabwe and Tanzania.

Ms. Long-Velasquez holds a M.A.T. from the Graduate College of Union University and BA in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from the University at Albany. She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
